Throughout June, July and August 2024, in collaboration with partnering agencies and law enforcement, Project Rescue Children successfully rescued 6 adults and 20 children from trafficking and exploitation, and saw the arrest of 7 traffickers from 7 rescue operations. Project Rescue Children continues to fight to rescue, educate and rehabilitate children affected by trafficking and exploitation worldwide.
News From PRC The Philippines
In early February, we announced the successful rescue of eight children and the apprehension of two traffickers, thanks to generous Project Rescue Children donors, in cooperation with the Philippines National Bureau of Investigation ((NBI). An update regarding the case reveals that the child trafficker has pleaded guilty in court and is currently awaiting sentencing. This development brings relief to the young female survivors, who are still receiving support from PRC Philippines.
An exciting new partnership has been established with a well-established, large NGO comprised of survivors. This partnership will enable PRC PH to expand nationwide, leveraging resources to reach all schools and educate Philippine children with the BE BRAVE program.
Investigations continue to rise as we work side by side collaboratively with Philippine authorities. The illicit trafficking of infants on black markets and the exploitation of children through live-streamed sexual abuse, also referred to as Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC), remain troubling issues that are of great concern to us as we conduct thorough investigations.
We commend the Philippine government, law enforcement agencies, specifically the NBI, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and DAWD for their invaluable support and collaboration in our efforts to combat these abhorrent crimes against children.
News from PRC Kenya
We are pleased to announce the successful launch of our free child safety workshop in June, made possible by the dedicated volunteers of PRC Kenya. The BE BRAVE initiative remains committed to raising awareness and providing education to numerous children and communities on issues such as trafficking, exploitation, kidnapping, online safety, pedophiles, and child sacrifice.
Mama Jane carries on with her exemplary dedication to caring for children, showcasing her commitment to PRC and the community. Her recent documentary, focusing on our center and her tireless efforts, also sheds light on a challenging situation: the Kenyan government's decision to shut down all shelters and orphanages in 2032. This raises significant concerns about the safety and well-being of orphaned children nationwide. The urgent question arises: where will they find shelter and support now?
News from PRC Gambia
The dedicated volunteers of PRC Gambia, all of whom are qualified teachers, consistently excel in providing education to hundreds of children and families throughout the country through the BE BRAVE program. School faculties have expressed their satisfaction by inviting us back, and new schools are reaching out to us after learning about our highly regarded child safety workshop. Our organization is expanding across Gambia, with new volunteers joining us on a monthly basis. We strongly believe that educated children are safer children. We commend the unwavering support and dedication of school staff in promoting the safety of children.
News from PRC Uganda
With the establishment of our registered Community Based Organization (CBO), the Cherished Children’s Foundation (CCF), we are experiencing significant growth due to our unwavering commitment and dedication to assisting Ugandan children nationwide.Â
We extend a warm welcome to our newest senior volunteer and advisor at Cherished Children's Foundation (CCF) and Project Rescue Children, retired Senior Superintendent of the Ugandan Police, Mr. Johnson BAHIMBISE.
With 34 years of distinguished police service and a master's degree in public relations, Mr. Johnson is dedicated and excited to work with CCF and PRC in combating child trafficking, sacrificial killings, and exploitation at the forefront. In just four months, we have demonstrated our effectiveness by becoming the primary organization that law enforcement and government agencies turn to for assistance in cases of child trafficking, exploitation, and sacrifice.Â
Our hands-on approach sets us apart from others, garnering respect from Ugandan authorities. We take pride in being recognized as the leading anti-child trafficking organization in Uganda and have recently formed partnerships with registered children’s charity shelters that provide essential care to survivors we rescue.
We are currently in preliminary discussions about establishing our own shelter that will collaborate with law enforcement and other agencies. Additionally, our upcoming BE BRAVE workshop will soon launch, led by a dedicated team of Ugandans focused on educating children. Numerous schools and communities eagerly await the implementation of BE BRAVE.
We extend our gratitude to the Ugandan government, law enforcement, and government officials for their unwavering support of PRC and CCF as we continue to work diligently together to safeguard the well-being, education, and security of children.
PRC Online DarkWeb Team
We are actively pursuing individuals who target children in order to prevent their grooming or potential exploitation. It is crucial for parents to recognize that predators can be found in various online platforms, not just limited to the Dark Web. Therefore, we strongly advise parents to monitor their children's online activities, including whom they interact with, which applications they use, and their amount of online activity.Â
Additionally, if parents notice their children engaging in late-night conversations, it is essential to initiate open dialogues with them. Parents should establish a safe environment where their children feel comfortable discussing any issues without fear of reprisal.
One of the most pressing concerns, particularly for teenagers, is the threat of sextortion. Predators and scammers exploit teens by coercing them with inappropriate images, leading to manipulation and extortion. Tragically, many teens have taken their lives out of fear or shame. It is imperative for parents to engage in these conversations to protect their children from such risks and prevent potential harm.
We want to express our deepest appreciation to our amazing donors, volunteers, and supporters. Your dedication and generosity are making a significant impact on the lives of trafficking and exploitation survivors worldwide. Your continuous support is what fuels our efforts, enabling us to offer crucial resources, rehabilitation programs, and a safe refuge for those who have endured unimaginable hardships.
Our mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children would be impossible without your unwavering support. We genuinely value your assistance in bringing about positive change for those in need. Thank you.
